Summer Venture Fellowship
Each summer, Primordial selects one candidate to join our team for our Venture Fellowship program. Our fellows are in-office with us for 10 weeks, learning what the day to day is like at an early-stage venture capital firm.
About the Fellowship
We're always on the lookout for a sharp, ambitious college student to join our team as a Venture Fellow each summer. If you're a college student who loves working hands-on in a fast-paced startup and venture capital environment, keep reading.
About the Role
Our Venture Fellow will be an integral part of the Primordial Ventures team, working 30 hours per week in person from our downtown Durham office for 10 weeks over the summer. This is an in-person role, so you'll get real face time with our team and founders across the Primordial ecosystem.
Focus: Research and Special Projects
You'll take on research projects and special assignments, giving you a chance to broaden your skillset. Along the way, you'll get insider exposure to how a venture capital firm operates, how we evaluate startups, and what it takes to grow early-stage companies.
Who We’re Looking For
Rising freshman, or current undergraduate at an accredited college/university
Interested in startups, sales, venture capital, or entrepreneurship
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable with independent work and proactive communication
Excited to spend the summer in our office in downtown Durham, NC

November 2nd, 2026
Summer 2027 Application Opens
We’ll continue accepting applications until December 10th, but we’ll start scheduling interviews on December 1st. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
December 1st - 18th, 2026
First Round Interviews
We’ll continue to review applications through December 10th, scheduling interviews on a rolling basis. Top candidates will be given a work sample project to complete over the break.
January 15th, 2027
Top 5 Candidates Notified
We’ll review work samples from top candidates and notify the top 5 by mid-January. Final round interviews will be scheduled in the following two weeks.
Early February 2027
Summer Fellow chosen and notified
Final candidate will have two weeks to accept the offer for a 10-week in-person fellowship in Durham, NC.
Late April / Early May 2027
Pre-Onboarding
We’ll prepare you to hit the ground running with some pre-reading materials on our portfolio companies and get your email and Slack setup.
Late May / Early June 2027
Welcome to Primordial!
We’ll work with you to determine the best start and end dates and get you welcomed to our team by the start of summer!
