Primordial Invests in Bristles
Today, we’re excited to announce our first pre-seed stage investment into Bristles! Based in Durham, Bristles is an AI-powered mobile app for designing home DIY and upcycling projects. You can read more about and download the Bristles app at bristles.ai.
We first encountered Bristles when Tina Tang, co-founder and CEO, presented at CED’s Venture Connect in late March. Born out of the founder’s personal journey with redecorating and DIY-ing, Bristles was created to allow designers and creators a way to more effectively visualize, build on, and share their ideas. Bristles recently launched their mobile app on both Apple and Android stores and are steadily gaining new customers.
Tina has impressed us with every meeting. In addition to being a technical cofounder with training in machine learning and computer vision, she has a deep understanding of the business. Bristles was founded by two technical cofounders, so being product-focused is part of their company’s nature, making them a great fit for Primordial’s portfolio. Bristles has ambitious goals for growth, and we believe Tina and her team have the hustle, vision, and focus to succeed.
From Tina Tang, Bristles cofounder and CEO:
“We’re thrilled to receive investment from Primordial. Their operational expertise in scaling software startups will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business after recently launching our AI design product in app stores. I appreciated Primordial’s swift, lightweight investment process. They understand the fundraise vs. product building trade-off that technical founders balance and have designed their investment process around enabling founders to focus on building.”
We’re excited to kick off this fundraising round for Bristles as they continue building their full product and growing their user base.
Onward!
