Primordial Makes First Investment into Coworks

Today, we’re excited to announce our first seed-stage investment into Coworks! Based in Raleigh, NC, Coworks provides a complete suite of solutions for today’s coworking spaces. See coworks.com.

DeShawn Brown, Co-Founder & CEO

We were first introduced to Coworks when we met with founder and CEO DeShawn Brown at CED’s VentureConnect in late March. Spun out of DeShawn’s successful mobile application development company, Lithios, Coworks was created to solve the increasingly common issues he saw as a user of coworking spaces, like reserving conference rooms, amenities management, and fostering and engaging with the community. Since its inception in 2019, Coworks has grown steadily, with a boost during the early days of the pandemic, and now has a footprint in coworking spaces across the US, Canada, and Europe.

We have been impressed with DeShawn and his team’s deep knowledge of their customer, including their ongoing pain points and journey through setting up a new system. Coworks, as an organization, and DeShawn as a founder, are very product-focused, which is core to the types of companies Primordial likes to invest in. Coworks has proven traction and revenue, and we are confident that the leadership team is well-equipped to capitalize on growth opportunities along the way. Our partnership with Coworks allows us to assist with capital, and we’re excited to support them in their next stage of growth.

Madison River Ventures and Fulcrum Financial Partners joined us in this investment, among others in the Southeast ecosystem. We’re looking forward to utilizing our new partners’ experience with companies of this profile to help Coworks take their journey to the next level.

Onward!
